We are getting reports of people still getting emails about the adverts they are putting on the site, I have added a few to the list so you can see the type of email that is being sent. Most of these emailers just want you to respond so they know they got a valid email address before selling it. The best thing to do is just delete them or report them to the host, gmail take this very seriously and so do hotmail, both address for reporting are in this post

We are currently tidying the site up a bit to lower the overhead on the server, things like the menu and header graphics are getting an overhaul so if you visit and can't see anything then use Ctrl+F5 to force an update of the files for the site.
I have changed the submit advert system so that it will not show any boxes till you select the category, this is to stop people starting to fill it out and then losing the information because the form clears the data on selecting the category.
The trade adverts are staying as these people pay to have their adverts there and that allows us to offer things like images and high speed hosting for a very busy site. The site used 12GB of data transfer last month see the image in read more for details of visits.

Details: Centec Automil MK2. Ex West London College machine, appears to have done little work. ISO30 Horizontal Arbor. Complete with central lubrication, coolant pump and tank, table fixture with 2 hydraulic vises. For more details see lathes.co.uk website.
This machine is 3 phase. The electrical control panel is absent but the original main and coolant pump motors are present.
The Automil is a Centec 2B machine with added hydraulic movement of the table.I was planning to concert the machine to CNC but time has overtaken the project.
This is a very heavy machine. The base is one large iron casting, the rest of the machine can easily be dismantled for transport. Access to the machine is good.

Details: Using my controller these motors can be used for machine tools. They are about 1hp approx and can be adusted to any constant speed 1000-12000rpm or 100-1200rpm using original washine pulleys. So if you have a lathe,drill or mill you can get it going without excessive reduction pulleys and with a soft start up. See my website.

Details: Elliott Victoria Junior Omni-Mil in very good condition. This is a superbly versatile milling machine which has a swinging and tilting 3MT head (New motor just fitted) with power feed to the table in the horizontal axis.
The table is in great condition and has had all new drive belts fitted. It is calibrated in imperial units BUT I will include all three axis METRIC lead screws, nuts and dials for those who wish to convert to metric. There is also a spare base unit motor and matching pulley. A spare table and many other genuine accessories too.
There is also the Horizontal Milling Arbour, Support bracket and Bar together with cutting guard.
I will also include a Clarkson Chuck and complete collet set, a Boring Head and a milling vice too (Oh and a manual)

Details: Hello I recently bought a Drummond M type of I believe the mid 30s. unfortunately it has lost its original treadle drive, which I would like to replace and use it(nearest thing to excercise Im ever going to do!). I need the flywheel, treadle,pitman ect. has anyone got any of these parts or know where there may be some? any help much appreciated. My lathe is almost identical to that on the "M type photo essay" pages in the Drummond section of the lathes website. Would be willing to purchase complete or incomplete m/c or collection of parts.

The head was saved from the scrappy doing rounds at a nearby university mechanical engineering dept.
Looks to be relatively good condion. three-phase motor which is unfortunately untested as I am a student living in a flat in Edinburgh (no three-phase supply!)
I have seen the chopped parts (eg Bridgeport head castings) selling for a fair amount on ebay so am asking £250 ONO. Would also accept selling the head as part payment for a Boxford or Myford lathe, general workshop tools (in particular vices, pillar drills etc) which will be of greater use to me than a milling head lying on my floor.

Details: Can anyone please help me with any imformation on a Clarke 3hp single phase motor. The motor was given to me some time ago and i was told that it required a capacitor. The motor plate gave the size as 80uf motor run type and i purchased one from Machine Mart. I fitted it to the motor, it starts and stops ok, but is vibrating badly. I have tried another capacitor but it made no differece. I have stripped the motor apart, checked the bearings and the windings and they all look ok. The last thing i tried was to disconnect the capacitor, spin the motor up, then started it, but it still vibrates. Has anyone any got any ideas please? Kevin Nicholls

Details: hi i have a stent tool and cutter grinder that i wish to sell or swop for a nice lathe. the stent is engineer built to a very high standard. the grinding wheel can be moved in any which way you want like wise the table can be aswell. there is a jig made to the drawings to hold your endmills etc and there is also a nice pair of centres to hold reamers etc there is also some griding wheels, im looking to either sell this nice machine or swop it for a nice lathe to add to my backyard machine shop best wishes jonathan

Details: I am trying to sell on behalf on one of my customers a Smart and Brown Lathe. It is not conventional please read on. I think it is a model 35. It has a Collet Workhead with lever operation and approx 25 collets. It has a cut off slide with lever operation. My customer used it for polishing and chamfering as it cannot be used for conventional turning having no turret or feed screws. It may be of use for spares or a project. Details: I am rebuilding a Super & for a friend and require someparts that are missing. Namely topslide and tailstock but some accessories to add would be nice. Details: I have recently fitted an electric motor from Machine Mart to my Super 7. It performs well, but the electrical terminals on this motor do not carry the same idents as my previous motor. Does anyone have experience of over coming this or better still a diagram of the wiring for mating the Dewhurst switch with this type of motor.
Details: Hi I have come across a number of references to self built coolant pumps machined from solid. Could anyone email me a drawing or send me a photocopy of an article on this please, I will happily cover expenses or buy an article. I need to be able to pump suds and parafin. Alternatively does anyone want to swop my three phase suds pump for a single phase one? All replies gratefully received.
