Details: Can anyone out there help please. I have the castings for a Stuart Hand feed pump No 145/3: 1/2" bore x 1" stroke but no plans. This was discontinued some time ago but I think it was made in the 1980s. It is the one fitted with round handle and black plastic knob, the largest hand pump of the three they made. Details: Ryobi 550W pillar drill with variable speed, integrated lamp and laser guide.
The chuck has been upgraded to a keyless version - the original being very poor (included). Comes with original box meaning I can post with confidence.
The speed display cover (which is just a sticker) was damaged (creased) in the box, never bothered me and of course doesn't affect the machine in any way.
Great rate on postage as this is a heavy item. New price is around £270, and I paid just over £40 for the chuck so priced to sell. Drill has hardly been used and is being sold due to new mill having a quill.
Details: Tubal Cain's Gibraltar tool post machined from a casting (Hemingway) to suit fixing to a Myford Super 7 cross slide in place of the top slide to give a very rigid tool post great for turning crankshafts. Generally good condition complete with post for DTI.
Details: I have three mercer dial gauges which are surplus to requirements. The picture is of one of them, not a stock photo pinched from elsewhere, only thing is I have no idea which one it is - they are all identical!
As you can see in the photo its a Mercer Type 250 metric dial gauge and is in good condition having had very little use. The resolution is 0.01mm and the length of stroke looks to be just over 12mm
I think these were horrendously expensive when new.
I would like £20 each for them - if you can collect from Cambridge or Huntingdon.
If you want one delivered it would cost £28 including postage and insurance.
If you wanted more than one, I am sure we can agree a price!
Details: Having taken a couple of months break from trying to clear my late fathers workshop I am once more back on the case!
Next item to move along is a Leyland Barlow shaping machine.
It is currently mounted on a home made steel stand/table but could easily be removed and mounted on a suitable bench.
There are two indexing pawls, I don't think there is any tooling beyond what you see in the photo.
I have never used a shaping machine in my life and therefore can't really answer any technical questions about it, but i am guessing that if you are reading this and interested in buying a hand shaping machine that you know what you are looking at!
You could fit the shaper and the stand into the back of a decent sized estate car if the shaper was removed from the stand - bit of a handful otherwise! Ideally a small van or a trailer would be the best way to move it, and no I won't be putting it on a pallet for it to be sent by courier!
If anyone is interested it can be viewed or collected from Histon, 2 miles north of Cambridge. Ideally collection would be on a weekday evening although a day/evening weekend collection may be possible.
As to price? I have seen these machines changing hands for around £250 of late both here and on Fleabay. I am open to sensible offers! Cash on collection.

Details: Gentlemen (and lady machinists) ... I'm now parting with my pride and joy: A Smart & Brown model L precision toolroom lathe (3 Phase). It's one of the very last machines made (1979) and last year I had the headstock bearings changed and a NEW 5C collet spindle and lever closing mechanism fitted by Bracehands (S&B). At the same time they fitted new lead screws to the metric compound slide and re-scrapped it in to production standards. Both jobs cost just under GBP/£800.00
It is in SUPERB mechanical condition. Cosmetically, I began to rub it down ready for spraying but ran out of time. I have the paint and its free to the buyer!
I have a HUGE selection of tooling and accessories for it, infact just about all Smart & Brown's extra's.
This is NOT a cheap or play machine, it is now at factory production standard!
My workshop is now going so whoever buys this will walk away with spares, materials, cabinets and whatever I have left.

These are both from B.E.N.portable air compressors from the 1940s/50s/60’s and were used on almost every garage workshop and forecourt in that era for inflating tyres and spraying.I’ve got two for sale – both non-runners and ripe for renovation or spares only.
One was complete and in working order when I acquired it and I stood well back after plugging it in just to test it. It hadn’t been powered up for probably 40 years but worked really well for a few minutes until the 240v motor decided to dissolve in a cloud of sparks and blue smoke so it’s now dismantled for renovation. I reckon this would make an interesting display item at vintage transport shows especially if it was hooked up to a steam powered plant! New piston included but needs new rings (available in UK off the shelf!). and comes complete with a useful portable trolley with lovely big wheels and removable handle. Also includes heavy duty tyre pressure gauge encased in rubber shroud – just like the sort you can bounce off the ground. The second one comprises of a complete assemebled cylinder and crankcase with the crankcase inspection plate removed. The big end bearing seems to be in excellent condition.Loads of Pics available to anyone interested. Someone please make a sensible offer for these fast disappearing items of vintage garage equipment as I don’t really want to junk them but if no one wants them it’s the only remaining option. The flywheels alone would cost a packet. Collection only but flywheels could be posted.

They have 22 teeth steel pinion wheels already fitted onto the shafts which are secured by a grub screw, and also included are 90 tooth delron drive gears which are bolted to the back of your wheels. Also included are 4 new bearings which are 6302-2NSE, which have a 17mm bore. Bought as a package about 5 years ago, at Harrogate show from a well known supplier- they had been used on a demonstration loco. and have had very little, if any, use. Motors tested - all fine. Details: I am trying to obtain a copy of the manual for a "Wsyssbrod 11a" gear and pinion cutting machine. If anyone has one I am more than willing to copy it or pay for the copying.
Details: Harrison 140 lathe run from 240 volts using inverter and 2hp 3 phase motor, suds pump/tank chuck guard gap bed with Norton gearbox. I have owned this machine for the last five years or so, I purchased the lathe from a retired -Rolls Royce engineer and he got it from GM tools and it came direct from a school I believe. It was made in the 70s for training schools hence the low top spindle speed 1000rpm using the 2hp 240 volts main motor, so I fitted the 3phase motor/inverter a few years ago so the top rpm range is now about 1800rpm but never needed to go that high, the spindle will run safe at 1750rpm ( see lathe.co.uk ) due to the 1750rpm factory fitted bearings/spindle. The Lathe is in good condition for its age showing small amounts of ware n tare the gearbox has a slow oil leak ever since I have owned it but still works fine it’s not a new machine but I have always tried to keep it clean ( only selling due to newer machine deal was offered ) hobby use only. I am offering the lathe with the following tooling that I have purchased over a few years. Taper turning (recent addition) so not used on this lathe only tested 2 main chuck c-spanners Lathe manual 160mm 3 jaw Pratt chuck inc outside jaws + spanner 3mt revolving centre 3mt drill chuck + key 150mm catch plate + headstock adapter + centre 230mm 4 jaw Pratt chuck + spanner 200mm spare chuck back plate 195mm spare chuck back plate 125mm spare chuck back plate 8 spare gears for screw cutting 120t 80t 63t 60t 56t 2x 50t 40t (extra to what is fitted now) Burnerd collect chuck inc key + boxed set of 12 collets Fixed and travelling steadies 235mm standard face plate 460mm gap bed face plate 4 way tool post(on lathe) See 2nd pic (all in) All the above tooling would cost about £1200 alone (based on what I paid not todays prices) not to mention the time spent getting it.
