Unfortunately we cannot do anything about this as there is no restrictions on anyone reading these adverts.
If we made everybody sign in it still wouldn't stop the problem as the scammers, who seem to be genuine would just sign in.
What can be done is for the advertisers to be be more aware.
It seems as if the pattern is repeated.
The seller works away, fishing vessel seems to be a common one.
They always need a bank transfer.
Now a few questions:
Do they supply photographs?
Do they seem knowledgeable ?
One way to sort a scammer out would be to tell them you have a friend in the area who is prepared to collect and pay cash.
Anyone backing away from this would seem very suspect to me.
Don't use payment methods that you cannot reverse (PayPal and that type of site will protect you from this type of scam and they won't use it)
Now when a bank transfer is made and nothing happens has anyone contacted the police in the area the bank is located ? This is fraud after all.

Very easy to do they collate all Fraud with the Metropolitan Police, this was a request from a person at Action Fraud.

Details: I have a Startrite Mercury pillar drill, which has been converted from floor standing to bench standing. I would like to swap it back to be a floor standing machine, and as such am looking for a column and full height rack for the table to replace my cut down one.

Details: I am looking for a cast iron piston (1.37 x 1.15) to fit a Westbury EEC Charger Set. These were designed by Edgar Westbury, working under contract for Stuart Turners, in the early years of the Second World War for battery charging in the armed forces. They were soon in production by Douglas Motors, Enfields, Stuart Turners and EEC - probably Electrical Equipment Co, though some believe it to be Economic Electric Co. They were ground breaking units at the time as it was rare indeed to set out to design a small capacity (35cc) high revving (3,500 RPM) four stroke, side valve, all aluminium engine in an age of heavy, slow revving motors. Unfortunately the piston on the one a friend has a small section ast the bottom of the skirt missing, which although it doesn’t stop the engine working, prevent the oil scraper ring being fitted.

Details: Nice, clean 10 speed drilling machine with single phase motor and plug, circa 1969. Spindle is 2MT and has a 1/2" chuck (and key!). Large speed range means that it can drill holes from 1mm to about 22 in hard and soft material- High 3830,2290,1430,890,539 and Low 720,430,265,165,95 rpm. The table is 12" x 14" with 2 tee slots - there is a little damage, but it shouldn't be a problem. Daylight is around 42".
This machine is easily moveable - you can even take it outside to work in the sun or to drill holes in bits of steel too heavy to move. The head, table, base and column can be separated so that it easily fits into the back of the car. Could arrange delivery at cost

Details: A friend has a Chester milling machine fitted with power cross feed(Align power feed) which has developed a fault.Its blows fuses, apparently the transformer is OK 240 in 110 out.He says the motor is also OK.I have tested the thyristor on the pcb and the diodes but unable to test the 36 volt zenner diode.Before visiting any ideas, information or circuit diagram would be much appreciated.Ted

Details: Help. Can anyone please tell me anything about, and what inserts I need to buy for these 2 end mills? They are both 25mm shank Sandvic Coromant. One is marked RC 215.1-025 and has a triangular insert 14.8mm along the edge, and would appear to be of a negative rake variety.
The other is marked R 215.2-125 and has a triangular insert 9.8mm along the edge?

Details: I bought this for my Master 2500 but it does not fit. The centre height is correct at 61/2" but the vee is too close to the centre line ie 2", it should be 21/2"ish for a 2500. I suspect it is either for a Chipmaster or Master roundhead but you would need to check. Comes with 3 off 3mt sockets, 1 0ff 2mt socket and two roller box tools. Tooling fits 3/4" holes in the turret. Paint is a bit grubby but the mechanical parts are in good nick with smooth operation. Collection only as it is very heavy.
Details: 13" diameter D1-5 camlock faceplate. Fits Holbrook B13 and C13 lathes and possibly others besides. Thickness = 15/8". Bore = 113/16". 8 x 11/16" wide radial slots. Weight = 37lbs Collection or post, or could deliver to Harrogate ME exhibition on Friday 10th May.
It says L5 on the casting but it doesnt say Harrison.
Ive had this for a good few years and done nowt with it.
Requires a good clean.
