Proxxon tools

Proxxon tools

Good day all. I have a need for a small vice  pref with a ball joint to  sit on the top of the bench and I have seen a couple of good reviews of the proxxon mini vice. I have in the past been a bit snooty about these tools  (for no good reason) , I wonder what is the view of the chaps and chappesses on these tools. It will only be used for very light fettling work.

coments?

very many thanks

Mike

Re: Proxxon tools

I'm inclined to feel that Proxxon are over-priced relative to other makes of tools that are available of a similar quality. If I had a need for such a vice I would be inclined to wait until Lidl were selling their version which I'm sure would be at a fraction of what Proxxon will charge and are probably from the same stable.

Re: Proxxon tools

I was a bit under pressure to get a vice and so I did buy the Proxon  its ok but a badly finished flash mark on the ball makes the 360 degree action not very smooth , Its something I can fettle  but  bit disappointing never the less.

best wishes
Mike

Re: Proxxon tools

It's a tad late in the day for you but Aim Tools Ltd have a swivel vice that they sell at £8.39  -  they have other tools that they sell quite cheaply. Am sorry not to have found this site sooner
