For Sale: Myford Precision 4" Lathe

Mon 20th Jul '20

Advert ID: 38243

Machines (Large Tools)
Details:
I am having to sell my Myford Precision 4" lathe as the place I have been using for it has been sold. This is a 1940's lathe from a relatively small number of its type manufactured during the war. `it is in reasonable condition but would appreciate some TLC. It comes with 3 jaw and 4 jaw chucks. a faceplate and a set of change wheels that provided a reasonable feed speed. It has a Myford 4 way tool post. Typically it can use accessories and parts found on ML7s.

When I bought this lathe I was given a new main shaft and bearings that had been made for the previous owner. I have never got around to fitting these as the originals have been good enough for the limited amount of turning I was doing on it before I bought an ML7 which I am keeping as it fits the new workshop space I have!

The lathe is on a heavy metal base and need 3 or 4 people to shift. It would be possible to dismantle though I have never done this. It arrived in a transit van at its current location it would be easiest to move it with something similar in size.

I have to have it moved by 9 August.
